SHC helps individuals and families move out of homelessness and into permanent housing, with supportive services available to help them remain housed and move forward.
HOW WE PROVIDE HOUSING
Our Housing Programs
Opened in 2003 as Charlotte’s first permanent supportive housing community, McCreesh Place provides affordable housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness.
Residents have a place of their own while remaining connected to SHC’s supportive services and a community designed to help them maintain housing, pursue personal goals, and build greater stability.

Scattered Site Housing helps neighbors find safe, affordable homes in privately owned rental properties throughout the Charlotte community.
For individuals with limited or challenging rental histories, SHC works with landlords to help remove barriers to housing and supports positive relationships between residents and property owners.
Once housed, residents remain connected to SHC’s Support Services team, who help them set personal goals, navigate challenges, and build the skills and resources needed to thrive in their homes.
Scattered Site Housing
Established in 2015, Rapid Rehousing helps individuals and families move from homelessness into privately owned rental homes throughout Mecklenburg County.
The program combines housing assistance with time-limited supportive services designed to help residents build stability and work toward self-sufficiency within two years.
SHC works alongside each household during that transition, connecting them with resources and support as they establish a more independent and sustainable future.
